Recent research at UCLA has discovered that the process of meditation affects the brain in such a way that it increases the brain's mental abilities, such as improving memory, decision making and dealing with information. They also discovered that people who meditate regularly have improved self awareness and are more likely to be compassionate towards themselves and others.
